Wherein we describe certain adventures had by certain people in a certain country known formerly as Tanganyika, the 5th group of Peace Corps Volunteers to be assigned to this country in 1964, a crew composed of nurses, surveyors, agriculture workers and an occasional teacher -- but then wait -- there were other strange occupations -- like lawyers and town planners and architects, a geologist, a nutritionist and, OMG, a computer programmer.
All of which produced some pretty insane, unbelievable, incomprehensible, certainly it could never have happened, stories. It was rumored that even Mount Kilimanjaro shuddered. Well certainly the administrative staff did. But onward......
This site exists because of the monetary contributions of many of the members of this group, the moldy slides of many of the members and the painstaking craft of that same computer programmer. You're looking at the beginnings, slowly being fleshed out over the next several weeks. Send your stories, slides (see Debe Can Scanner). The more you send, the funnier this site gets.
